AT POINT OF CHOICE
by Linda S. Troughton
We are always facing a point of choice in our lives. Whether or not
we are aware of it! We have the absolute free will to choose our
path. With conscious awareness of our choices we consciously
manifest our own freedom and limitations. The power of our thoughts
are realized into action.
Recently, I had an issue of worthiness in my relationship with my
partner, Tom. Since childhood I have been dealing with the issue of my
worthiness of receiving and accepting love and appreciation. I have been
an "expert" at giving love and appreciation but pushed away from
receiving it. Tom was appreciating and loving me abundantly for
being a powerful spiritual woman which I rejected as not the truth of me.
This brought up my prior beliefs that receiving limited love and
appreciation was fine which propelled me to push away.
I realized that I did not want to place a limit on my abundance for
receiving love and appreciation.
I was at a point of choice- Do I continue to push away which had
become the safe pattern or do I change my pattern of thinking? I
chose to consciously be in gratitude to Tom for his gifts of love and
appreciation. I utilized a daily affirmation to change my thought of
being worthy of abundant love and appreciation. I use a five
step process to change my thoughts which then changes my choices and
actions to freedom instead of limitation or lack.
1. Ask for clarity- What do you want
now? What is holding you back from what you want?
2. Determine what is your
"knowingness" which is the deepest level of your feelings in
connection with your soul. The soul "knows" but the mind my
reject it or not connect with your awareness. Bring your knowingness
to conscious!
3. Forgive yourself of any anger,
shame, blame or guilt which you had placed in you with the issue.
Release it and let it go!
4. Give gratitude for what you have
now and what is already present in the universe for you to claim
5. Affirm what you want with the power
of a positive affirmation
An affirmation statement has 4 parts: personal (I am), present (now),
precise (state what you want in detail), and positive(do not use no or
not). The affirmation I utilized was "I am (personal) worthy of
receiving and accepting love and appreciation (positive and precise),
unconditionally right now(present). Positive affirmations will
change your thoughts if you live and know it as if it is already present!
One key is to visualize yourself as what you are and feel it in your
being. State the affirmation numerous times a day such
as during a break, while driving, cooking, brushing your teeth, standing
in line, walking, at your computer, upon awakening or going to bed.
Are you at a point of choice? What do you want? You have the absolute
power and free will of all your choices! Namaste.
