Achieving success does not mean you must be perfect, work overly hard or be especially gifted or lucky in life. All of us want to achieve success, whatever that means to us. The real question here is, “how many people realize what it takes to be successful”?

Many people think that in order to achieve success you must bite, claw and step over dead bodies if you have to. Yes, sometimes, successful people use all these tactics. However, eventually it will be said that they achieved success not because of who they were but what they did. In order to be truly successful and admired you should operate with full integrity.

The key to achieving excellence in life is to use all your hidden talents, skills and knowledge in the very best way you have available. What do you need to do to unlock that dormant giant that lies within you? What is it that you need to do in order to see the desired results?

Below are some tips that will help you focus on and foster the life you want. In order to get the results that you truly wish, I challenge you to take a free afternoon or evening and reflect on the following questions. Read them carefully and write down some of tips that describe who you are and what you want to achieve the future? By doing this exercise you’re allowing your subconscious mind to evolve and find the answers for you!

1. Are you living your passion? Do you love what you are doing? If the answer is no, you need to devote most of your efforts to identifying what your passion is. Many people live their lives without living their passions, not putting their heart fully into what they do. Research shows that truly successful people are the ones that really love what they are doing.

2. Be persistent until you succeed Many people have great ideas and the vision to succeed; yet, they give up too soon when things go down hill. At times that things go slow or not as you expected, simply ask yourself what you can learn from the experience. The universe never lies. There is always a truth we can learn and apply to our next experience.

3. Learn and grow through the process You cannot afford to stop learning on a daily basis. The times are gone that a solid education and a few certifications guaranteed you a successful career. In today’s market you need skills across all levels. You need to be able to blend your technical skills with soft business skills. You cannot afford not to be technically competent even if you are an art major. Broaden your horizons and accept learning from other fields as a natural process. Learn and allow yourself time to grow. Allow yourself time to apply the newly learned skills.

4. Master your emotions Getting angry, disappointed or fed up from time to time is a natural part of life. Successful people feel this way, too. The difference lies in how successful people handle these emotions. Once you are calm, go directly to the person that upset you. Make it clear you are there for resolution. Give your best effort to rectify the situation. Handling yourself with grace during difficult circumstances is a clear sign that you’ve risen above the petty level of others.

5. Build a support group Find people that will support you. Those in your life that continually take but never give are not considered supportive. Increase your circle of friends to include productive relationships with others. Allow new people to enter your life and add energy to you.

6. Become personal Remember birthdays, important conversations and other events. People value personal attention. This makes you more memorable to others because you cared personally about them.

7. Do not focus only on the money If you’re focusing too much on numbers then you will eventually fail - big time. Do things from your heart. Going that extra mile is what is going to set you apart from similar services and products. Focus on doing a good job rather than collecting payment.

8. Delegate- Delegate- Delegate No matter what your job is, you cannot do everything on your own. There are always ways of delegating some of your workload to others. The key to delegating effectively is not to give up complete supervision. Make sure the people you are delegating to know what is expected from them. Follow up on occasion to be sure all is going well.

9. Respect time - do not waste it foolishly- treat time like money Many people complain about not having enough time. If this is you, try focusing only on things that will provide you with value. Don’t waste time in events that do not fit your present situation. Learn to listen to your inner voice. Your intuition is like a muscle- train it wisely.

10. Give away some of your services- knowledge- money Successful people understand the principle of what goes around comes around. When you share your time, talents and money with others, you will be repaid – many times over – by others sharing with you.

Follow these tips and you will see for yourself that it is not difficult to be truly successful in life!
